Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.80 g, 6 h), uncertain Spanish mint (Colonia Patricia or Tarraco?), circa 19 BC. CAESAR AVGVSTVS Bare head of Augustus to right. Rev. IOV - TON Hexastyle temple set on podium of three steps; within, Jupiter standing front, head to left, holding thunderbolt in his right hand and long scepter in his left. BMC 363. CBN 1098. Cohen 179. RIC -, cf. 63a (Aureus). A beautifully toned and very well centered example with a splendid portrait. Minor die break on the obverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
